What is wrong with wearing a purple bow tie? Well firstly, nothing in my opinion but some other disagree. What I think is funny about that is, purple is traditionally associated with royalty among many cultures. Royalty as well as other people of authority often wore purple robes. Usually rich, deep, and vibrant purples suggest riches, whereas, lighter purples are more delicate and romantic tones.
A light purple bow tie or even lavender, the grown up pink, would work well with cream, warm beige, and neutral garments. Yet, some blues and lavender work very well together to give a dapper, sophisticated look. Many beautiful things in nature are in all shades of purple such as, orchids, lilacs, and even lavender itself. There is no reason why it cannot be a beautiful part of your wardrobe.
Purple bow ties are available in many different shades and patterns, some striped, paisley all of which are there to suit your taste, just pair it with the right color shirt. Purple seems to have the same stigma attached to it that pink does, meaning too feminine of a color for males. I think many men can carry the color off without a problem; after all, it is just different shades of red and blue combined right? Both red and blue are bold statement colors.
Consider taking a chance and wearing your purple bow tie to a wedding. Make it part of your Easter suit, you would not only look distinguished but, fun and playful. One thing you do not want to do is wear your purple bow tie with a green shirt, the colors just clash. However, if you want to be a bit more adventurous try wearing a light colored purple bow tie with a mint green dress shirt, then you would be sure to make an impression on someone, should you want to.
If you do not dare to wear a purple bow tie yourself, get one for your dog, there are sites that have a variety of festive wear for your "best friend" he will either love it or hate it but I really do not think it will have anything to do with the color. Yet, I do believe that if you are secure enough with your masculinity, you can wear any color purple bow tie.
One thing to be said about the purple bow tie is, there are so many variations in today's' tie market that there most definitely will be the perfect one to meet your needs. Whether you are looking for a purple bow tie for a formal affair or just to dress up a shirt with a pair of jeans, it is out there. Forget the taboo that goes with the color purple have fun with it; the key is you will never know how you feel about wearing a purple bow tie unless you try one on.
